EGG HARBOR TOWNSHIP –While Towne & Country restaurant is a small establishment, owner Steve Thomas fills in the space with his generous portions and quality ingredients.

At Towne and Country you will experience friendly, courteous and attentive staff. Upon arrival we were seated promptly. It was wonderful to be served within 15 minutes after ordering, where then our breakfast arrived hot and we were excited to dig in.

Our entrées consisted of the all popular American cheese omelet with home fries and our choice of toast with the second plate being the cream chipped beef. The omelet was huge, loaded with cheese and perfectly prepared. This menu item is absolutely delicious and very filling. It’s hard to finish this dish in one sitting.

The creamed chipped beef is a very popular diner staple and Thomas’s version is outstanding. Over top of toast was a hearty portion of creamy country gravy mixed with tender chipped beef next to a bed of Thomas’s signature home fries.

Thomas’s use of fresh ingredients including daily prep of fresh cut potatoes surely makes the difference.

Our meals were fabulous and having been here before we can honestly attest to Towne & Country’s consistency and superb quality.

Towne & Country’s menu serves up both breakfast and lunch all day every day from open to close.

Breakfast features daily specials such as omelets, pancakes, waffles and French Toast along with an assortment of breakfast sandwiches. Both breakfast and lunch at Towne & Country are popular and there is never a shortage of daily specials and delicious menu staples like great sandwiches, burgers, soups, and spectacular salads.

Susan Callahan, a local resident, loves coming to Towne & Country.

“I’ve been coming to Towne & Country for years, and they never disappoint,” Callahan said. “This morning, I had the Western Omelet with home fries, and let me tell you, it was on point. Steve’s omelets are huge and always done to perfection, and his home fries are so delicious and always crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. It’s the kind of breakfast that keeps you coming back.”

Mike Jensen was in town from Philadelphia to see relatives. We caught up with him on his way out and he also had great praise for Towne & Country.

“I’m in town visiting family, and my cousin swore this was one of the best breakfast spots around,” Jensen said. “I went with the Texas French toast with a side of bacon. One bite and that was it! It was so damn good. I’ll surely be eating here again soon…probably on my way back to Philly.”

The restaurant is always clean, and the dining area has spacious tables and a few booths as well. The long counter is a fun option with stools to sit at and their ample parking makes for a convenient and stress-free arrival and departure.

You will be glad you made the trip to Towne and Country Cafe, open seven days a week, from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m., located in Harbor Village Square off Ocean Heights Avenue and Zion Road.

Towne & Country’s visit by Front Runner New Jersey Dine-In finds the owner and small business veteran has a penchant to make sure his customers leave content and recommends his establishment.

As a young man, Thomas began his culinary career at a local Somers Point sub shop. To further his cooking skills, after he left the sub shop, Thomas then went to Chi Chi’s, a popular restaurant/bar in Somers Point that sadly closed its doors in the 1980s.

With a burning desire to own his own restaurant, Thomas acquired Towne & Country Cafe in 2001.

Having operated the business for the past 24 years, his attention to detail was apparent when we walked through the door.

Towne & Country boasts a large menu covering everybody’s taste preferences. If you are looking for a restaurant that serves great breakfasts and lunches, Front Runner New Jersey Dine-In recommends you give Towne and Country a try.
