Each June, communities across South Jersey come together to observe Juneteenth, the federal holiday commemorating the end of slavery in the United States. Marking June 19, 1865 — the day when enslaved people in Galveston, Texas, finally learned of their freedom — Juneteenth has grown into a widely recognized occasion for reflection, education, and community celebration.

South Jersey’s Juneteenth observances reflect the holiday’s continued expansion across the region. Municipalities, cultural organizations, and community groups throughout Atlantic, Burlington, Camden, and surrounding counties are hosting a wide range of programming that highlights African American history and culture. Events include festivals, live music, food vendors, historical exhibits, youth activities, and opportunities for civic engagement, all designed to bring residents together in both celebration and remembrance.

As part of our coverage at Front Runner New Jersey.com, we have made a concerted effort to gather and compile a comprehensive list of Juneteenth events taking place across South Jersey. Our goal is to help readers easily find opportunities to participate in local celebrations, support community organizations, and engage with the rich cultural programming happening throughout the region.

What follows is a curated listing of Juneteenth 2026 events across South Jersey. These events offer a variety of ways to honor the meaning of Juneteenth while connecting with community, culture, and history close to home.

EDITOR’S NOTE: If you don’t see your event here, please contact us ASAP! Our Juneteenth coverage will continue in the coming weeks.
