MARLTON — It’s easy to overlook a restaurant tucked inside a Route 73 shopping center.
But once you step inside Bhan Thai Marlton, you quickly realize this isn’t your typical takeout spot; it’s a calm, welcoming space filled with oak wood and the aromas of lemongrass, chili, and coconut milk that transport you straight to Thailand.
On the website, owner and chef Tina Ukhansawad said she built Bhan Thai from a deep-rooted love of home-style Thai cooking. Her philosophy is simple: fresh, natural ingredients and recipes inspired by her mother’s kitchen in Thailand.
Everything is made with care, no GMOs, no shortcuts, and a focus on authenticity that shines through every dish.
Comfort, Spice, and a Touch of Sweet
On my recent visit to the Marlton location, the dining room was spotless and inviting. Service was prompt, friendly, and attentive. The staff anticipated our needs without hovering. It’s also BYOB, which adds another level of affordability to the meal.
Dine-In reviewers ordered three dishes: Crab Rangoon, Drunken Noodles with Chicken, and Chicken Pad Thai. With the tip, the bill came to $61.00, a great value considering the generous portions and fresh ingredients.

The Crab Rangoon arrived first, crisp and golden brown. It was sweeter and creamier than most versions I’ve had, with a perfectly smooth filling and a chili sauce that balanced heat and tang.
Next came the Drunken Noodles with Chicken, steaming and fragrant. The portion size was hearty, loaded with vegetables that were tender yet crisp. The spice level landed right in that satisfying “nice kick” zone, enough to warm you up without overpowering the rest of the meal. Every element worked together, from the chewy rice noodles to the well-seasoned chicken.
The Chicken Pad Thai was another standout, light and bright, not heavy like some versions can be. The noodles were delicate, the chicken tender and moist, and the sauce had a subtle sweetness that set it apart. If you prefer your Pad Thai slightly on the sweeter side, this one hits that note perfectly.
For those with dietary preferences, the menu features vegan and gluten-free options. There’s also an impressive range of specialty entrées and appetizers worth exploring, including their signature curries, fresh rolls, and noodle dishes.

They also offer yummy desserts like fried honey banna with ice cream, sticky rice with mango, and chocolate grammanier soufflé with pistachio ice cream.
In a region filled with chain restaurants and predictable menus, Bhan Thai stands out for its balance of authenticity and comfort. Whether you’re dining in Marlton or visiting their sister location in Mount Laurel, you’ll find the same dedication to quality and care.
It’s not just about the food — though the food alone is worth the trip — it’s about how it makes you feel: welcomed, satisfied, and eager to come back.
That’s the kind of dining experience that doesn’t need gimmicks or hype. Just great food, great service, and a sense that you’ve been taken care of, the way a good meal should always feel.
