Women of the Dream Names 2021 Scholars

CAMDEN — Women of the Dream this month named fifth annual 2021 scholarship winners.
Women of the Dream, founded by business executive Leslie Morris, is a nonprofit that has served more than 300 girls in the Camden area and has become a vital part of the Camden school district and the Camden community.
The winners are listed as follows:
Women of the Dream Top Scholars
- Erielys Vicente, Mastery High School of Camden, Rowan University, Exploratory Studies
- Ayannaisa Muhammad, Charles Brimm Medical Arts High School, Clark Atlanta University, Biology-Pre Med
- Madizon Martinez, Charles Brimm Medical Arts High School, Camden County College, Nursing
- Nedeshka Ruiz, Creative Arts Morgan Village Academy, Monmouth University, Marine and Environmental Biology
- Joanna Dominguez, Freedom Preparatory High School, Dartmouth College, Biology
Women of the Dream Youth Empowerment Scholars
- Petrice Thompson, Creative Arts Morgan Village Academy, Coppin State University, Psychology
- Regina Bennett, Creative Arts Morgan Village Academy, Howard University, Sociology
- Ruqayyah Banks, Mastery High School of Camden, Rutgers University-Camden, Biochemistry

Women of the Dream also introduced a new Brittain Scholarship Award this year.
Zhamina Faulkner is the inaugural winner of the Brittain Scholarship. She is a graduate of the Creative Arts Morgan Village Academy and will attend Barnard College at Columbia University in New York City. She will major in theater.
Deborah Brittain established the Brittain Foundation in the name of her late husband, Willard Brittain, who had an illustrious career in finance and later focused his energies on entrepreneurship and philanthropy. The Foundation partners with several organizations to provide funding to support students in college and to give them leadership skills for success. Deborah Brittain is a native of Arlington, Va., and holds a master’s degree from the Simmons School of Social Work and a bachelor’s degree from Howard University.
This year’s Women Of The Dream’s 2021 scholarship sponsors include the Bass & Sneed Charitable Foundation, VISA, Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield, Leonade Jones, Brittain Foundation, the New Jersey Education Association, the Camden Education Association and Wells Fargo.
