SJ Small Business Expo IV Hits Another Milestone
VOORHEES — The South Jersey Small Business Expo No. 4 was another success as entrepreneurs and their supporters gathered at the Original Hot Dog Factory at the Ritz Center to network, share information about their business and enjoy a meal from the hosts.
The bi-monthly event, cosponsored by AC JosepH Media and Bully Pest Management, was created to give a regular voice to mom and pop shops and start-ups in marginalized communities. Diversity Equity Opportunity Network, DEON, led by Shelja Touri, was a co-sponsored the event.
Attendees heard from business owners Mike Kenney, from Kenny Protective Services; Christie Petre of Jersey Girl Promo; Angela Morrison, of Angie At Your Service; Michael Wakatama; author Rann Miller; Akil Collins, of the New Jersey Small Business Development Center; and the Evesham Youth Advisory Couincil.
Moorestown Deputy Mayor Quinton Law attended along with Evesham council member and former deputy mayor Heather Cooper, Willingboro council member and former mayor Dr. Tiffani Worthy. Voorhees Mayor Michael Mignogna also spoke.
Other businesses owners attended included Latonya Sampson, of KW Realty; Nick Rispo of PoBoys Powerwash and HCRE Management; Adrienne Baludock of the South Jersey Information Equity Project; and Patricia Lindsay-Harvey of the EduSports Acadmey.
Tyrus Ballard, president of the Southern Burlington Branch of the NAACP and Fatima Heyward, president of the New Jersey Young Democrats also attended.
The next SJ Small Business Expo is tentatively set for Thursday, April 27 in Willingboro.
