Hispanic Association of Atlantic County Names 2023 Nuestro Pueblo Award Winners

ATLANTIC CITYThe Hispanic Association of Atlantic County officially named the winners of its Nuestro Pueblo Awards, which will be given at the Garden Pier of the Showboat Hotel on July 14 from 6-10 p.m.

This year’s theme is “Noche En Blanco” and all-white attire is a must. The awards honors the achievements of community members who have advanced and enriched the Hispanic cultural heritage.

The winners include:

Highlighting the great culture and leadership in South Jersey’s Hispanic community.
  • Arts and Entertainment: Arlin Padilla, Arlin’s Dance Spot
  • Community Service: Cristian Moreno, El Pueblo Unido
  • Education: Cinthya Llerena, Atlantic City Board of Education
  • Entrepreneurship: Ediana and Damian Martínez, Essential Senior Benefits
  • Future Leader: Yuliana Tapia, senior at Stockton University & Aston Ragsdale, 2020 graduate of Atlantic City Institute of Technology
  • HAAC Board Member of the Year: Luis Chevere
  • Healthcare: Vanessa Negron, AETNA; Christine Guzman, Atlanticare
  • Nuestro “Amigo/a”: Dr. Nicole Williams, Sovereign Avenue School
  • Organizational “Amigo/a”: South Jersey Cultural Alliance
  • Public Service: NJ Latino American Troopers Society
  • STEM: Dr. Adaliz Rivera, Mount Sinai

Tickets are $75 per person and include two complimentary drink tickets, hors d’oeuvres and a floating dinner.

“Enjoy live entertainment as you overlook the beautiful ocean at our historic venue, the Garden Pier at Showboat, and dance the night away with the Latino Who’s Who of Southern New Jersey,” organizers said in an online statement. 

“The Nuestro Pueblo Awards celebration is to promote community involvement, advancement, and growth of our Hispanic cultural heritage by recognizing individuals and/or organizations who are making a difference in ‘Nuestro Pueblo’ (our community).”
