CLAYTON — South Jersey teenager Kenikki Thompson will perform a free concert in the character of “The Little Mermaid” and take pictures with the community at Yhanne’s House of Cheesecakes, 835 N. Delsea Drive, on Saturday, June 17, from 10 a.m.-3 p.m.

The Little Mermaid” is the latest box office Hollywood hit, making more than $425 million at theaters and growing.

Thompson, a junior in Gloucester County Institute of Technology’s Drama Program, is a member of the National Thespian Society and was recently voted Troupe 5860’s Advocacy chair.  She is the co-director of Diversity and Inclusion with the South Jersey Youth Arts Association and the founder of South Jersey Kindness Rocks.

She has been the recipient of the President’s Volunteer Service Award, Camden County Young Community Leader Citation, Winslow Township Public Service Award, Chapel of Four Chaplains Legion of Honor Award, Bianca’s Kids’ Kenny Surtner Anti-Bullying Award, and numerous others.

The collaboration with Yhanne’s House of Cheesecakes and Thompson goes back to when the student was just nine years old when she spearheaded a massive clean water drive to benefit families in Flint, Mich.

Yhanne’s House of Cheesecakes was instrumental in helping her reach her goal. They have most recently partnered to help provide holiday meals to struggling families.

Yhanne and Tiffany Battle treat their customers as if they are guests in their home and are part of their big family. Their goal is to become the standard in the industry and provide a cheesecake that’s suitable for everyone’s palette.
