Assemblyman William Spearman

TRENTON – Camden Assemblyman William Spearman was honored last week by the New Jersey Chamber of Commerce for his legislative committee work and his engagement with the local business community.

Spearman was recognized with fellow NJ Assemblyman Robert Karabinchak at the New Jersey Chamber of Commerce’s annual Legislative & Business Awards Reception in Iselin on Oct. 22.

State Chamber President and CEO Thomas A. Bracken said as chair of the Assembly’s Commerce, Economic Development and Agriculture Committee,  Spearman consistently engaged with the Chamber to ensure the voices of businesses are heard and considered in policymaking.

“From sponsoring the New Jersey Works Act to advance pre-employment training programs, to supporting statewide initiatives like the Recycling Needs Assessment Advisory Council, the Assemblyman demonstrates a clear focus on economic growth and workforce development,” Bracken said.

“His active participation with the Chamber and his open dialogue with business leaders reflect his dedication to creating a business-friendly environment where companies of all sizes can succeed.”

Spearman, whose district covers Camden and Gloucester counties, is a former Camden city councilman and real estate agent before running for the State Assembly.

“I am deeply honored to be recognized by the Chamber of Commerce for my work to strengthen New Jersey’s economy,” Spearman said in a statement.

“From expanding workforce training to supporting initiatives that help businesses grow, I remain committed to creating an environment where businesses and communities can succeed together.”

The Chamber selects recipients of its Legislative Awards based on voting records, bill sponsorships, and a demonstrated history of championing policies that strengthen New Jersey’s economy.
